Halloween Costume Ideas for Couples
Sure, maybe it is frowned upon for us adults to go out and hit the neighborhood with our awesome costume, but that doesn't mean we don't want to. To be honest adults can rock some costumes that we just couldn't pull off when we were 4'4" and weighed 60 lbs even with that full suit of armor on.
I remember a Halloween when I dressed up as Frankenstein (I'll probably have to explain what that is to the kids) and even though I tried to scare everybody all I got was, "Ah, that's so cute and creative." I had worked on my Frankenstein moan for weeks and all I could get was a pat on the head and some candy.
Now that I've grown up a little, I'm a little over 6'2" if I stop slouching, I think I might be able to pull that Frankenstein off and actually get the reaction I wanted when I was a kid. The best part is my wife and I might actually be able to pull off Frankenstein and his bride.
When looking for
Halloween Costume Ideas for Couples you really have to decide what sort of category you want to fall into. Do you want to scare everybody at the Halloween party or have kids run away when you answer the door? Are you in the mood for something a bit more humorous; slapstick or a little more cerebral? Or if you want there is always the clever costume that makes people stop and tell you how awesome you guys look. The fact is there are costumes that can cover all of these things and can run the gamut on pricing.
Frightening
If you are going for scary couples costumes there are several classics: Frankie and his lady, Dracula and ?, The Wolfman and Virginia. If you wanted to go true horror there dress up like the Pinheads from Hellraiser. They always made me want to run the other way. Equally gruesome and very trendy this year with Walking Dead and World War Z on everyone's screens, dress and walk like a zombie (don't forget your zombie moan).
Humor
Humor can go in several directions. You and your significant other could go a little raunchy and style a USB and port couples costume; or the old-school plug and outlet. One costume I saw that could also be in the clever category is a full bra. There are always funny classics like Kermit and Ms. Piggy, Pac-(wo)man and a ghost, Fred and Wilma, or Shaggy and Scooby.
Clever
In my book the clever costume always proves to be the most entertaining. If you are a movie buff there are plenty of costumes that spark imagination and can easily impress. One of the best I have come across is Selene and Lucian in Lycan form from Underworld. How about trying Harry Potter and Hermione? It might be a little throwback, but Harry is always in style. Try being Dorothy and any of her male counterparts. If you have a lot of talent, or money, try being Hoggle and Ludo from the Labyrinth. I suppose you could just be Sarah and Jareth the Goblin King if you own a codpiece, a tight leather outfit, and a crazy hair wig.
Any way about it, there is a set of costumes that is perfect for you and your significant other. Find that theme and take back Halloween. It might not be ok for you guys to go door to door looking for candy, but at least you can rock a costume while you take your kids.
